Detach & Reset, Denver-Specific
Denver is hail country, and hail means roofs. After a big storm, whole neighborhoods get reroofed — and every one of those homes with solar needs the array taken off and put back. Roofers can't work under live panels, and most won't touch the solar themselves, which is where homeowners get stuck. We're the team that handles the panel side and keeps it in step with the roof side.
Because metro reroofs cluster after storms, timing matters. We coordinate with your roofer so the panels are off when they need to start and back on as soon as the new roof's done — no system sitting dead longer than it has to.
What We Handle
- Full removal of panels and racking — before the roof work begins
- Labeled handling and storage — so everything goes back in place
- Timing coordinated with your Denver roofer — both ends
- Reinstallation, reconnection, and production check — system back to producing before we leave

FAQs About Solar Detach & Reset in Denver
What Denver homeowners ask us most often when their roof needs work.
-
My Denver roof got hammered in the May 2024 hail. Roofer's ready to start — what about the panels?
Call us before the roofer starts. We detach the array, store it safely, then reinstall and reconnect once your roof is done. We sync the detach date directly with your roofer and lock the reset date the same way — you shouldn't have to play project manager between two contractors. After major Denver storms when reroofs move fast, this coordination is the part that keeps the job from dragging into 5-6 weeks. -
Will my Denver insurance cover the detach-and-reset?
Usually yes when the reroof is hail-claim driven. Most Colorado homeowner policies that cover the roof also cover the panel removal and reinstall as part of restoring the property. Insurers actually prefer it done by a solar contractor — amateur removal creates more claims. We give you a written scope and pricing you can submit to your adjuster. -
Can't my roofer just take the panels off himself?
Not without risking expensive damage. Removing and reinstalling solar panels isn't roofing work — roofers don't have the electrical training to wire a string array back correctly, the labeling system to put each panel in its original position, or coverage if they damage the system. Any modification by someone other than a qualified solar contractor likely voids your manufacturer warranty. After the roofer-did-it disasters of the 2017 and 2023 hail rebuilds we don't bend on this. -
How much does Denver detach-and-reset cost?
Typical residential range: $1,500-$3,000. Per panel: $100-$200. A 14-16 panel array on a standard pitched roof runs around $2,800-$4,800. Larger or steeper systems can go higher. Estimate is free. -
My installer went out of business — can you still do the detach and reset?
Yes. We handle every brand and every installation in the Denver metro, including orphaned Titan, ADT, SunPower, Sunnova, Solcius, and others. The original installer doesn't need to exist.
