What We Do

Monument & Tri-Lakes Solar Maintenance

Monument sits at 7,000+ feet with heavy Ponderosa pine coverage, active wildlife, and some of the heaviest snow accumulation on the Front Range. Solar systems here face unique challenges — tree shading, pine needle buildup, and aggressive squirrel activity.

Most Monument solar installations were done by Colorado Springs or Denver-based companies. Many have since reduced their service area or closed entirely.

Areas We Serve

Monument, Palmer Lake, Woodmoor, Jackson Creek, Promontory Pointe, and all Tri-Lakes neighborhoods. Also serving Black Forest and Gleneagle.

Monument Solar Challenges

  • Pine trees & shading — Ponderosa pines grow fast. Shading impacts change year to year.
  • Squirrels & rodents — forested areas mean aggressive chewing on wiring under panels.
  • Heavy snow — Monument gets more snow than Colorado Springs proper. Panels stay buried longer.
  • Pine needle buildup — needles accumulate in panel edges and gutters, trapping moisture.

"Where do I start? Amazing work. Great detail. No one else will service my solar panels, only this company! Great customer service. Goes the extra mile to make sure you are well taken care of. This guy was on my roof mid day while temps were scorching and got the job done in a timely manner. Even said he is going to come back to clean the gutters and everything. No more pigeon nests! Couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend"

"Cannot recommend this company enough! Nick came the same day I called and gave us a free estimate. He scheduled very quickly and was super efficient. Very communicative as well. The install itself is very professional and looks really clean. Will always recommend them moving forward. Thank you for the 10/10 work."

"These guys too care of the pigeon problem that had developed under my solar panels, cleaned my gutters, put up critter guard, and gave the panels a good cleaning. They charged me a fair price, provided excellent customer service, and were 100% transparent about the process."

FAQs

FAQs About Solar Service in Monument

What Monument homeowners ask us most often.

  • Do you cover Monument and the Tri-Lakes area?
Yes — Monument, Palmer Lake, Woodmoor, Jackson Creek, and Black Forest are all part of our regular Springs-to-Denver corridor work. We're often through the area weekly.
  • At 7,000 feet up here, does the altitude do anything to my panels?
It does, but it's a mix. Higher elevation means more intense UV (accelerates seal degradation on older panels), bigger daily thermal swings (puts stress on connections and microinverters), and stronger wind exposure (mounting hardware wears faster). On the upside, panels are more efficient in cold air and the angle of mounting sheds snow well. We check mounting and connections during Monument inspections because those wear faster up here.
  • Should I clear snow off my panels in winter?
Usually no. Panels are designed to shed snow — the dark surface absorbs sun and the angle sheds the load once temps come up. Trying to clear them yourself with a roof rake risks cracking the glass and falling off a ladder. The exception is when heavy spring snow piles deep at the lower edge and stays for days; in that case give us a call. For most winters you're fine letting it slide.
  • My panels are still producing nothing weeks after a snow event. What's wrong?
Two likely things. One: snow blocking PLC signal can throw "Microinverter Not Reporting" errors that clear up once the snow melts. Two: ice damming at the panel edge can shade the bottom row of cells, which can cut a microinverter's output to near zero. If it persists once the snow is gone, that's an inspection call — it's usually a sign something else needs attention.
  • How fast can you get to Monument from the Springs?
About 30-40 minutes from our shop. Routine cleaning and inspection visits typically schedule within the same week.
  • My Black Forest install has trees over the array. Bird and squirrel issues — do you handle?
Yes. Black Forest properties get hit hard for two reasons: mature trees mean heavy pollen and bird traffic, and the ponderosa-pine canopy attracts squirrels who use panel-mounted arrays as both shelter and gnawing surface. We do both the cleanup + critter guard install. If your trees overhang the array, we'll also flag what cleaning cadence you'll need going forward.
